Down and Dirty Pinterest Tools Guaranteed To Make Your Life Easier

| Posted in Pinterest, Social Networking |

Pinterest ToolsThere’s a reason they say…“Watch out Pinterest is addicting!” This is my 3rd post in a row where I am talking about the hottest new social network on the planet. (I need to get a life, haha.)

I totally agree that it can become very addicting. Just look at all the gorgeous pictures everyone is pinning there. Most people are visual people and like me respond to brilliant colors or funny and/or cute pictures. So when something gets “addicting” it means you spend a lot of time there. Or should I better say waste a lot of time?

I needed another social network to worry about like I needed a hole in the head. But, since I kept hearing how awesome Pinterest is for marketing I had to check it out. I really love what I see there, but I do not have much time to devote to it. So any tool that comes along to make my life easier and save me time is highly welcomed. Don’t you agree?

Here are some cutting edge Pinterest tools
to help you keep your sanity.

Pinerly

Pinerly ….was the first Pinterest tool I found and I can’t even remember where I heard about it. It is by invitation only and you need to have 5 friends before you receive an invite. Pinerly is a Pinterest friendly dashboard that lets you take control. You can follow people, find great pinners with the same interests and easily spot unfollowers.

PinReach

Pinreach …is a Pinterest tool for those of us who love analytics. It lets you find out how your boards are doing as far as followers, pins, likes, comments, etc. It also shows you which your most popular pins are and how many repins they have. And it also gives you an overall score. The higher your score the better of course. Kind of like in good ol’ Facebook fashion, Pinterest too is driven by engagement so repins carry more weight than pinning something new. However when others repin your stuff it carries much more relevance to your social influence than when you do it yourself. So the bottom line here is… pin awesome stuff that compels others to repin it!!

Use PinReach to analyze your Pinterest boards and pins
PinReach will show you how many pins a particular board has, how many followers,
how many people liked it and how many comments.

PinReach will show you how many repins your favorite pins have
PinReach also shows you how many repins your favorite pins have.
And a whole lot more…

Pinstamatic

Another awesome Pinterest tool I came across is Pinstamatic. It lets you create sticky notes or quotes you can pin on your boards. It also lets you add locations, music, calendar dates, twitter profiles and more. It’s really easy to do and it took me less than five minutes to figure it out.

Pinstamatic

Cendrine Marrouat wrote a cool blog post loaded with more fantastic Pinterest tools and Google add-ons for Pinterest.  “10 tools to use Pinterest like a pro.” My favorite mentioned there is Pinvolve which I immediately installed on my Facebook Fan Pages. You can see it in action here and here.

So go visit Cendrine’s post and here is another one I would like to mention. This one is by my good friend Stacy Claflin ….”Pin Your Posts Automatically.”

This should keep you busy for a while. If you know of more terrific Pinterest tools it would be great if you could share them with us in the comments below. Thanks!

Don’t forget to “Follow Me on Pinterest”  ….and Happy Pinning!

Wow Ilka!

As a tis Pinterest was addictive, and now so many more tools will surely make me sit glued to them all day long :(

However, I just knew about Pinerly earlier than now and was rather content with plain and simple Pinterest. But after reading your post and getting to know about it, I have to check out all of them!

I think PinReach sounds rather interesting and something worth trying first. :)

Thanks so much for this wonderful source of information. :)

Hi Harleena,

Sorry to add to your misery :)

Like you, I was very content with just Pinterest, and I will probably leave it at that…except for Pinvolve and PinReach. Those two tools are really intriguing.

Especially Pinvolve, because before there was no way of sharing an image from Facebook. At least none I knew of. I know there are some Chrome add-ons now that let you do that as well, but I’d rather have an app directly on FB than add something to my browser. That’s just me, lol.

Thank you so much for your awesome feedback! Always a pleasure!

Be blessed,

Ilka

Oh no Ilka- I didn’t mean that!

It’s always nicer to learn and know more about the latest tools going around, and I love all that you share on your blog.

Yes indeed, PinReach seems wonderful, though on Facebook I have it already installed. (It’s not Pinvolve, something else- forgotten the name, which again I had read at someone’s blog earlier) working well so far. :)

Thanks once again. :)

Hi Ilka,

gotta love that: You needed another social media site like a hole in the head…well, me too. Your constant Pinterest posts remind me that I should do something about it. What I found annoying recently is that it takes very very long to upload pictures. Then, I lost the groove a bit.

Other than that, I appreciate the tools you share because they can make my life a lot easier.

Thanks for sharing your insights.

Be blessed

Hi Oliver,

Well, it’s so true. As if I wouldn’t have enough on my plate as it is. BUT…I think this Pinterest thing will really add up in the long run.

You know, I experienced long loading times as well recently. I don’t know if the server may have been just busy or if my picture was too big. (Gotta keep an eye on the time I post and on the size of the picture.)

Thank you so much for adding more value to my post, Oliver! I always appreciate your feedback.

Be blessed,

Ilka

You’ll be proud of me Ilka but I actually have heard of PinReach and Pinerly. I actually signed up for PinReach but knew that Pinerly was still in beta testing. I think that’s what I remember.

Now the others I’ve not heard about so I’ll have to look into those. I guess I keep forgetting to “pin” things when I’m on other sites. I’ll get use to that eventually though.

Great post and I’ll definitely be checking into Cendrine’s and Stacy’s posts. Love learning good scoop on a site I still have not dove into really good.

Hi Adrienne,

Yay, you deserve a gold star :)

Don’t feel bad, I forget to pin things at times too. We are just so darn busy and Pinterest is still quite new. With time though I believe it will become second nature, just like tweeting.

Have a great weekend!

If someone is using Pinterest for marketing, PinReach is really a must-have one! I’ve heard about it last week, and I have given it a try. It is really useful if you want to monitor your pins. Great article, thanks for the useful information!

I love Pinterest. I didn’t even know about these tools. I might have a look at one or two of them. I have 2 Pinterest accounts, one which was my original personal one and then when I started my blog I began a new one with my blog name. Now I am finding it very redundant to have two as most everything I post is the same types of pins for both accounts. I dont want to close my personal one because I have so many pins and followers and The new blog account has different followers and I dont want to loose them either, I’m confused as to what I should do. Any advice? Thanks for the great article. Looking forward to reading others.

Hi Cathy,

Welcome to my blog! It’s great to meet you.

Well, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having two Pinterest accounts. I would try to not pin the same content on both though.

Try to make your blog account more specific. (HINT: If there is something you would like for both of your audiences to know, why not pin it on one account and then link just that pin to the other account?) See if that will work for you.

All the best,
Ilka

Ilka,

Pinterest is a fantastic platform… for sure!

The tool that I use the most is Pin-a-Quote Pro… Where you can highlight text in an article you’ve written or by someone else and pin it as a picture to Pinterest…

Love it.

Thanks!!

Great post Ilka – I found your blog via your mention on Traffic Generation Cafe!
I’ve been hesitant to even get into Pinterest (like you, concerned with the hole in the head!), but now that some good tools are coming out which make it more efficient I know it’s time to dive in – the stats for Pinterest traffic are good I know!
Looking forward to trying out some of your recommendations!

Hi Tanya,

Glad you found your way here via Ana’s blog. She puts out excellent information.

Oh trust me, I know what you mean (about the hole in the head), however, the more I dive into that Pinterest “thing” the more I realize its tremendous potential.

Looking forward to connecting with you over there.

Great post Ilka… There are so many social networking sites that can be used as a marketing tool but most of the marketers don’t have a clue what they are doing when they use these sites.

It’s good to know someone has the latest tools and introduction to one of the newer ones.

Thank you,
Mark

Hi Mark,

You are right, there are so many these days and new ones popping up still all the time. I try to stick with the four bigger ones…Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Twitter. Those keep me plenty busy :)

And yes, you do have to learn your way around on all of these to use them effectively. Each one is different with different benefits so it is kind of good to at least know the basics.

Thank you very much for your feedback!

All the best,

When Pintrest first came out I thought it was pretty cool but wasn’t going to go through the learning curve of another social network…but…perhaps now I’ll give it another look. Thanks for the post

Hi Patrick,

I know the feeling. It seems like there are too many social networks already fighting for our attention. However, Pinterest is a pretty cool one and once you get the hang of it very easy to manage as well.

Thanks for your feedback and have a great day!
