Where to Get the Coolest Facebook Timeline Cover

| Posted in Social Media |

Facebook Timeline CoverThe new Facebook Timeline roll out is almost completed. If you are still on the old interface and would like to know how to switch to the new timeline now, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube or just Google it.

So now that you have all that space available  just what in the world are you going to choose as your Facebook Timeline Cover?

Well, by default, Facebook will choose a photo you have already uploaded.  But if you don’t want that, you can get really creative and make your own.

For example, I love quotes, so I created a cover sharing one of my favorites. (That was before I knew of the places I will share with you below.) I also created some others that I had a blast making and I probably continue just for fun and giggles. If you want to make your own using PhotoShop or Gimp the specs are 851 wide by 315 high.

Hi Ilka, you know I was watching Adrienne the other day change to the new timeline. Haven’t done it yet to be honest. Just not keen on the way the posts are from side to side and non ‘list like’…. to me that’s just irritating.

In any event, I know it has to be faced and so in looking for the positive… I was thinking ‘hmmmm… a person could pretty much do a ‘blog header’ so to speak … so funnily I was starting to think about what I might use. I do plan on changing my actual blog header in the not too distant future so was considering doing something along the same lines of whatever I decide upon for my business.

Funny you wrote this post today after I considered what to do with all that great ‘header-like’ space.

Was thinking about you the other day too and that lady who called you last year and got the wrong number. I have had a few similar situations that I’m planning to write about.

Hope you day is going well. Talk real soon. (so to speak)

Best

Hi Jayne,

It’s funny how our signals get picked up by the universe and it leads us just to what we’re looking for, isn’t it?

I’m not that happy with the new timeline interface either and how it shuffles things around. But maybe it’s just because I don’t fully understand it yet.

I do however LOVE the huge banner space it gives us at the top. I think using a blog header type image is a great idea. If you need any help with that send me a PM on FB :)

Thanks for stopping by and your great feedback!

Have an awesome evening!

Hi Ilka,

Cool tools as usual.

You know, today I was going through the timelines of my friends of facebook and I thought to myself do I want these timeline. Somehow I still prefer the old one but I guess there is nothing I can do to it eventually.

Why dont I like the timeline? I’m not exactly sure. Maybe because my eyes have still not adjusted to the new interface yet seeing that the photo covers a large chunk of the page and kinda look intimidating :) Maybe because my internet connection is funny and doesnt load more than a month down the line.

But I guess I’ll have to live with it eventually if I wanna continue with facebook, that is. :)

Thanks for sharing and I WILL use them when it becomes imperative that everyone move over to the timeline.

Hi Tosin,

Trust me, I can completely relate. I liked the old interface much better too, but, as I already told Jayne above, I do LOVE the big space in the cover image. Just think of the possibilities! You could really highlight your business for example.

As far as the internet connection, guess there’s not much you can do about. However, as things get more and more mobile maybe things will change for you.

By the way, you’ve been running through my mind all day long. (Gosh, I’ve got such a head ache. Just kidding!) But I am on my way over to your site to finally give you that testimonial you’ve been asking me for.

Wishing you an incredible 2012, my friend!

Be blessed,

Love the links Ilka!

I just saw a few of the links you put up in the post and have bookmarked this page to work on, when I finally make the switch to timeline!

I did see Adrienne’s awesome video, but I still love the old look and would wait till the last day when there is no option to switch over to timeline. I guess I am just so used to the old ways and knowing where what is placed. :)

To be very honest I really didn’t know we could play with the main photograph the way you describe it here, and thought we had to place only photographs on the profile. It really made me wonder who I would get so many snaps every-time :)

Thanks for sharing and letting me know more about timeline :) Have a wonderful day :)

Hi Harleena,

It’s hard to let go, isn’t it? I was hanging on for the longest time too because I didn’t want to let go of the familiar and learn my way around the new timeline. But I knew, eventually I had to.

Several things got me, the first was the timeline cover and the possibilities it has and the second was that you can literally “go back in time” and read old posts on the new timeline. So, after that I felt better switching. The other reason I switched ahead of time was, I didn’t want to get caught with Facebook choosing a default picture that I may not have liked, haha.

I’m glad I was able to enlighten you that you can “play around” with the main picture, Harleena. You can really get creative with that large space that is available.

Have fun when the time comes!

Be blessed,

Ilka

Hi Ilka, very helpful tips! I’m a little bit thinking of changing my old facebook profile page as Adrienne Smith wrote in her blog that sooner or later it will be the official FB profile page so I think I have no choice even if I really don’t like the timeline because it is too much for me. Well I guess I just love simple things. But thanks for the links I will change my FB today and I will definitely use this links you have her. Thanks. God bless you.

Hi Carol,

It’s hard to let go of what we are used to, isn’t it. But life is all about change. You know, at first I didn’t like the new Timeline either, but it grew on me. Now I’m fine with it.

Oh by the way Carol, I normally don’t approve comments that lead to capture pages. I made an exception because you are new to my blog, but next time I will take off the Luv. If you have a blog, go ahead and link to that instead. I hope you understand.

All the best,

Ilka

P.S. Btw, an easy way to show your picture when you leave a post is to get a free account at Gravatar.com. It connects the email you use for blog commenting with your profile picture …and even updates previous blog comments. Pretty cool!

Hi Ilka,

Okay, so I’m late to the party again. Shame on me.

Thanks for the mention, I really appreciate that. I still don’t like the timeline layout and after I shot my video I started finding more posts that shared how you could do the really cool cover photo. I spent so much time on mine and even had a friend help me in photoshop but once you upload it to Facebook, it throws off the quality of the end result for some reason. So frustrating…

I’m going to have to check out these sites and come up with something fun. So, thanks for giving me the heads up.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

But, …if you ever want a quick change then those sites above could come in handy.

Have a wonderful week yourself :)
