There Are No Problems Only ”Unseen” Solutions

There Are No Problems

I watched Michael McMillan’s “Pink Bat” movie the other day. It’s about turning problems into solutions.

As I was watching this little movie I was thinking … Are we looking at problems the wrong way?

I know, as you know as well, there are always two sides to each coin.

A pessimist sees a glass half empty. An optimist sees it half full.

A pessimist sees a problem. An optimist sees and opportunity.

What if the problems we see aren’t really problems at all, but just unseen solutions instead?

How would it change our life if we would see problems in a positive light rather than in a negative one?

What would happen if we welcomed problems as new opportunities, which most of them really are?

I wanted to share this little movie with you today. And once you watch it, you may see things a little bit differently.

Pink Bat Movie

Just think about some of the problems you are facing right now and see if they are not just unseen solutions.

To your success!

Hi Ilka,

Awesome video, I like the great truth behind it.

We get what we focus on. The art of moving from problem to solution based thinking is hinged on shifting your perception. The perceiver creates the experience.

The majority is taught that what they perceive through their senses is Reality, stress on the capital R. Keep focusing on this reality and you continue to create. Only by choosing different thoughts about your reality will you change it. You need to view the world through a different set of glasses if you are to change your life.

Few people go within on a consistent basis so few realize the fact that Reality is created as you go along and it has little to do with what you perceive through your senses. Reality is shaped by the thoughts you choose, and your thoughts actually shape the reality.

First the concept is mind boggling then it makes total sense. The gorilla example in the video demonstrates that we only see what we focus on. When you can be open minded and learn to shift your focus to positive solutions you create positive outcomes. All from changing how you see things.

Thanks for sharing the video and your insight Ilka :)

Hi Ryan,

Love your deep thoughts on this. It’s true that we see what we focus on. I’ve seen a similar study as the one with the gorilla on TV a couple of years ago. The same thing happened. Some people were just totally oblivious to the fact that a man (in this case) walked on the court while people where playing basket ball.

And yes, I agree with …”Reality is shaped by the thoughts you choose, and your thoughts actually shape the reality.” What this means then is that we actually create our own reality, whether it is true or not.

Thanks for your very valuable input! I truly appreciate it.

Tony Robbins always says, “Where focus goes, energy flows.” The more we focus on problems, the more problems we see and the more practice we get in finding problems. It’s a subconscious programming, digging the rut deeper and deeper.

It really does take a conscious shift in our thinking, which is difficult at first but does get easier with time. “Seek and ye shall find,” is amazingly accurate.

Thanks so much for the video, Ilka!

Hi Delena,

Tony Robbins is a very smart man. Love listening to his stuff. And he’s absolutely right.

It’s true about the CONSCIOUS shift in our thinking, which really does take effort. Old habits die hard. And like Ryan said above …”when you learn to shift your focus to positive solutions you create positive outcomes.”

Thank you for stopping by and for your great feedback! It’s very nice to meet you.

Hi Ilka!

I am downloading the video clip as I type this and I just couldn’t resist recalling a funny anecdote of two shoe salesmen.

There were two shoe salesmen sent to a faraway country and having had the same experience, went back to their bosses and reported this:

1st shoe salesman: I am sorry, boss. We don’t have a market there. No one wears shoes at all!

To which the other shoe salesman replied:

2nd shoe salesman: It’s such a great market, boss! No one wears shoes at all!

Indeed, it is how we see things that makes all the difference.

I know this video is going to be great!

Hi Elmar,

Love the story of the shoe salesmen. Had heard it before but forgot about it again. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Isn’t if funny how we can look at the same thing and come up with two totally different perspectives?

Cheers,

Ilka

Hello Ilka! It’s my firs titme on your blog and I must say it’s quite nice!

In my opinion there’s ALMOST ALWAYS a positive spin on everything that happens in the world. Most people are fixed to thinking in the negative mindset and it limits them from doing things they have always wanted to do.

Thank you for sharing this great post and video!

Hello Adrian,

Thanks for your visit and for your kind words! It’s a pleasure to meet you.

I agree, you can find a silver lining on every dark cloud. Just a lot of times, like you say, people are fixed on the negative. Which in turn prohibits them from going out and living their dream.

If we would focus on the solution of the problem we are facing rather than the problem itself, who knows what great new thing we could come up with.

I for one will be seeing things a bit different from now on.

Thanks for your awesome feedback!

Hi Ilka,

What a powerful and inspiring video! It’s so unfortunate that most people tend to dwell on the negatives, feeling sorry for themselves.

The thing is, positive thoughts bring positive energy, and positive energy brings positive results.

Thanks for the inspiration, Ilka.

Hi Mavis,

Thank you! Absolutely, just as negative feelings bring negative results, so do positive feelings bring positive ones. Makes you really wonder why we’re not “thinking positive” all the time, right?

The only thing I can think of is …that positive feelings acquire a lot more effort. It’s a lot easier to feel sorry for ourselves than turn it around.

Thanks for stopping by, Mavis, and for your valuable comment!

Have a great weekend!

Hey Ilka,

SO so true again! Right from when i was young, I’ve always watched with amazement how two people will see the same situation and while one will whine and complain, the other will go ahead and make something happen.

As I grew older, I saw the same thing happen over and over again.

Like I say, it is all about the perception. Do you see a problem or do you see an opportunity to carve a niche for yourself. You choose!

Thanks Ilka for the clip. I’ll try and watch it before sleep falls upon me :-)

Have a nice time!

Hi Tosin,

Looking at things with different perception not only holds true for problems vs. opportunities.

Have you ever heard the expression … “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure?” It’s kind of the same thing.

People are just funny like that. It definitely doesn’t pay to whine and cry about things. That won’t change a thing!

Cheers,

Ilka

Hi Ilka,

What a great and uplifting video.
Problems are present simply in our own self-created illusions, and they will fade away away as soon as self is yielded up. Self and problem are associated. Problem is involved in the darkness of unfathomable complexity, however eternal simpleness is actually the glory of Truth.

Hey Ilka,

Wonderful! Love the post and thanks for sharing this fun and powerful video.

To sum it up I’d say “It’s all about perception” . Successful people have the habit of seeing opportunities, those who have less success and freedom in their lives are in the habit of seeing problems…

Neither way of perceiving is more true, but I know which I prefer! Getting the Pink Bat concept and living it is crucial for living a positive life of opportunity, and best of all, everyone can make the choice to do it!

Ilka – I liked the message of this video. It’s really inspirational when you know that you can turn any problem into a solution.

It’s all in the mind and how we look at things, and we should be more open minded to things. I loved the Gorilla example in the video.

I love the way that is stated, it is so true. It really depends on our focus, are we focused on the problems or the solutions? If we are looking only at the problem then we will not see the solutions.

Amazing video and concept. Thank you so much for sharing it.

I believe in this very much and actually several years ago I created a video showing the black and white basketball player study that was one. Here’s the link in case you or your readers might enjoy seeing it. (Although now that you know what happens you might not “get it” like you would if you were to see it for the first time.)
