Could This Be The „Missing Piece“ To Your Success in Network Marketing?

You can't light up if you are not plugged in. While browsing around the BetterNetworker.com site over the weekend I found a blog post I had posted there about a year ago. I thought it would be a good one to share with all of you today to start the week off on the right foot.

Lessons From A Blender

As I strolled into the kitchen that morning for my second cup of coffee, I saw my husband put huge chunks of ice into the blender for his chocolate shake. I looked at him and the first words out of my mouth were, …“you’re going to break the blender.” (Always the positive thinker.)

As he hit the button nothing happened. A grin went over my face. I knew it! There was no way it could crack these huge chunks of ice. He should have broken them into smaller pieces first. Ha, I told you so =)

Then my eyes wandered over to the outlet. The blender wasn’t even plugged in.

My husband, who had followed my eyes, picked up the cord, and, with a huge smile on his face, plugged it into the outlet. Then he hit the “Ice Breaker” button on the blender. Noisy but without any difficulty the blender started to break the ice.

Still grinning from ear to ear, my husband turned to me and triumphantly asked,… “Now, what did you learn from this lesson?”

“That to be successful, you’ve got to be plugged in”, I answered.

You can’t light up if you’re not plugged in.

And you can’t become a leader that way either. It just doesn’t work that way.

Leaders are plugged in. They attend training calls and events.

They continue to learn and grow. They are involved.

And, they do what others don’t, they always push themselves!

To Your Success,

Ilka Flood

Hey Ilka,

I like that, “You have to be plugged in.”

I hear and see so many individuals that keep on banging their head on wall and wondering why their business is not growing.

Most of the time, they are not plugged in. They are not educating themselves. They are not attending any business conferences. But yet…they want their business to grow. Go figured!

Thanks for sharing this story…

Hi Josh,

Well, duh, what do they expect?

To put it another way … A car with an empty gas tank doesn’t run either.

Some people either don’t think or they are totally ignorant. Or both.

Make it a great day!

Oh Ilka,

Not plugging in the blender sounds like something I would do! LOL

Great analogy, you do have to be plugged in to be a great leader and successful, otherwise you have no value to share.

Loved the story!

LoL Ilka,

I loved the story! It had me smiling.

You are absolutely right, being plugged in is the only way to go.

When I started out I didn’t always plug in. One day I realized what a difference it made when I was plugged in, and when I wasn’t.

Now I’ve seen this in my team as well. The ones that stay plugged in are the ones that take off. The ones that never plug in, or stop for whatever reason, are the ones that eventually just go away, or become customers.

Plugging in is not an option if you want to succeed! It’s a must.

Great reminder!

Make it a wonderful day!

Hi Susanna,

Glad I could make you smile :)

You’re absolutely right, it’s not an option to be plugged in. It’s a must! Otherwise how can you be a leader to those you sponsor?

Enjoy your day!

Plugged in switched on and fully serviced!

Love the way you have presented this message.

Leaders can only lead from the front. To be in-front we have to be up-to-date with what is going on, so we can best guide, support and lead our teams.

Thats why I hang out with You guys, I feel like a scratched record because I have said this so much today…

I can’t help it though, cause its true and this post proves it. You have to surround yourself with the group who knows their stuff. That way you always stay plugged in.

Short, sweet and too the point Miss Enchantress of enlightenment.

Great story and I really look forward to seeing more on BetterNetworker.

I’ve been itching to see what you can offer us.

This post proves that you have some great stuff.

Plugging in is just one of those things we see a lot of distributors not doing. I can so relate.
