How to Attract the Right People to Your Network Marketing Business

Attracking people to your network marketing businessBuilding a strong organization of like-minded individuals is the key for your success in network marketing. Not everyone has what it takes to be successful in this business. So what kind of person do you want to attract to join your team?

Look at it this way, you are the president of your business and you want to build a strong, dynamic and supportive team, made up of capable, trustworthy, committed and loyal individuals. You want to attract the best of the best!

So where do you start?

 

Well, first and foremost you are looking for the kind of people who are naturally attracted to your business.  For example, if your business has to do with health and wellness, then you are looking for people who like to live healthy, people who like to stay fit and people who are interested in good nutrition. Or, people who want to change to a healthier lifestyle. If your business is about technology, then you want to attract people who are in to technology, gadgets, apps, etc.

In any case you want to find the RIGHT kind of people. People who want to build a business, who need to earn an extra stream of income and who love what you have to offer. And people who have an open mindset and love people.

You are also looking for people who are coach-able, who love to learn new things and who love to grow.

Network marketing is not about joining a company and buying products every month, it is about changing your lifestyle and it is about helping other people change their lifestyle as well.
So you really have to love what you do and be passionate about it.

John Milton Fogg says it best in his book “The Greatest Networker in the World”:

 

“The people who really make it in this business are the people who believe.”

So what do you have to believe in?

 

Well first of all, you have to believe in yourself. Because if you don’t believe in yourself, who will? If you have doubt in your abilities or you carry with you some dis-beliefs or limited beliefs from the past, then you really need to work on getting rid of those.

Second you have to believe in the network marketing industry. If you have any doubts about whether or not it is working or if it is legitimate or not, or whatever, it will be difficult for you to build a business. If you don’t embrace and trust this business model one hundred percent then you will have problems. So you need to get rid of your doubts!

Third you have to believe in your product/s and your company and you have to believe in your leaders.

If you want to be good at this then you really have to love your products and be passionate about them and your company, because it comes through in your voice and in your expressions when you talk to other people, those very same people that you are trying to attract to join your team.

So in wrapping this up, you are looking for other people who are just like you. People who believe in the network marketing industry and the lifestyle it has to offer and people who you think will love the products you are promoting just as much as you do and can really benefit from building a business around them.

Like I always say, that though I’m not from the marketing niche, but I can so well relate to what you write that leaving a comment here and sharing it all over only makes sense to me – as always :)

I agree that we all need to first start by building our relationships with those who are in our niche, though for me it works either ways because I have a wider niche perhaps. What it all comes down to is we connect with those who love to learn new things and grow the way we like to.

Believing in yourself and your abilities is what will make you believe in others and your work, or your team as you mentioned. I think that’s the most important aspect of starting your business or blog, or any new work for that matter.

Yes, building relationships with those we want to work with is very important, at the end we will be business partners so it’s vital we have the same mindset and values.

I’ve found that learning is a never-ending process and as technology and life overall advances there’s always something new to learn and to teach. It’s not easy to keep up especially at my age, but we have to be on top of things in order to reach the success we thrive for. Who rests, rusts, right? Having a strong belief system helps getting through the rough spots.

Hey Ilka,

I like what you said about network marketing. “It’s not about joining a company but about changing your lifestyle and helping others change theirs as well”.. This couldn’t be any truer.

If you can get people to focus on their lifestyle and how they feel about it when you first approach them, then they’ll be more open for change. You exchange numbers or emails, and provide them a solution which would be your company. If this appeals to them, then you’ll have a teammate.

This is simple to do, but not easy. Why? Because as you mention, you have to believe. If there’s no belief then no one will take you serious! Once you have full belief and are nonchalant about whether they say yes or no, then you can definitely move forward.

Hi Sherman,

I agree with you, THEY have to believe it possible. Without belief there’s nothing. Often people can’t imagine what life could be like for them. They have been just surviving for so long. That’s why it’s important to build their dream with them little by little. Start with a car payment, build up to a mortgage payment and soon enough they can believe that they can earn 10K a month and more. When they believe it, they can do it.

Ilka, I have done some networking marketing years ago and I never really gave it thought about finding people that want to learn new things and be taught. That ‘s a great point.
Believing in oneself is the first step too. How can others believe in you if you don’t first? In any type of sales loving your product is key. You can’t recommend it with enthusiasm if you do not LOVE it!

Oh yes, there’s a lot to learn. Sometimes I feel like a “Jack of all Trades” because there are so many different aspects and so many different pieces in network marketing. So people really have to be open to learning new skills. You’ve got to learn about the products, the company, marketing on and offline, you need people skills, leadership skills, a good portion of common sense, and a great sense of humor and more.

And you’re absolutely right, believing in yourself and that you can do it is the first step.

Hey Ilka,

I love what you shared here and I know without a doubt it’s absolutely true.

When I started in the online industry I didn’t have the right mindset coming into this. I had a lot of doubt only because it was foreign to me and I was struggling to learn from people who were really here for me.

It took me years to understand that until I changed the way I thought about myself and believed that I could do this that I would never attract the right people to me. Once I finally “got it” everything changed. It was amazing how this really does work.

People will oftentimes now ask me how do I handle the negative people and my answer is that I don’t attract them anymore. Isn’t that so cool!

I know that sounds kind of corny but it goes along with everything you shared. Believe in yourself, that this can work, the product, the company, your upline, everything. You truly have to have that faith or you’ll be barking up the wrong tree.

I think a lot of us were doubtful if this “thing” called network marketing would work…or better yet, work for US. There’s just so much negativity out there about this industry, which really is a shame. So it’s 0:1 right off the bat.

However, if you have the right mindset and believe in yourself and that you can do it, then the odds turn into your favor. Belief has moved mountains before.

It’s not just so in network marketing, any entrepreneur in any field can move mountains and accomplish great and wonderful things if they only believe.

If you believe in yourself and have great confidence …and come across that way, then you attract the right people into your circle as well. Good for you that you have accomplished that, Adrienne. Kudos!

So much wisdom in one post! We do need to first believe in ourselves, otherwise who else will? Then there is the product. If one has any doubts about what they are selling, it will be transparent to all.

Although I am not a network marketer, I do help those who are and you are right on target of how to get that business up and running.

If you are passionate about the product, people will see that it comes from the inside of you. That you are honest and excited about it. That’s the beginning of a wonderful relationship with others.

Thank you so much! Oh, believing in ourselves is such a huge part and at the same time the hardest too.

Believing in the product is much easier, especially if you are a “product of the product” and had great results. Sharing your story with passion and enthusiasm is contagious, it’s like a virus that springs over to the other person getting them excited too.

So yes, definitely, know your product or service, be passionate about it and share your story as often as you can. Those people who share the story the most, make the most money.
