<p>I was shocked, because to me, it absolutely IS everything. Having the right attitude is a key ingredient not only for building a successful network marketing business, but for anything else in life as well.</p>
<p><strong>But may it be as it may be, even if it isn’t everything it is still 100%.</strong></p>
<p>And I will prove it to you.</p>
<p>What makes up 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%. We always hear people say that they give more than a 100%. Heck, I’ve even said that myself on occasion. But, I will be a lot more careful about that in the future.</p>
<p><strong>And here is why…<span id="more-805"></span></strong></p>
<p>Let&#8217;s say if:<br />
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z</p>
<p>Is represented as numbers:<br />

<p>But ,<br />
<strong>A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E</strong><br />
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">100%</span></strong></p>
<p>And,<br />
<strong>B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T</strong><br />
2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103%</p>
<p>AND, look how far a** kissing will take you.</p>
<p><strong>A-*-*-K-I-S-S-I-N-G</strong><br />
1+19+19+11+9+19+19+9+14+7 = 118%</p>
<p>So, it is pretty safe to say with mathematical certainty, that while Hard Work and Knowledge will get you close, Attitude is right on. But it’s the Bullshit and A** Kissing that twill put you over the top.</p>
<p>I have often wondered what it means when people say, “I give it a 110%. Or 120%&#8221;. Or whatever. How can you give more than the whole?? You can&#8217;t give more than there really is. Or can you?</p>

<p><em>A man came across a young boy who happy as could be was shoveling horse manure. There was a big pile of it and the boy would dig up shovel full after shovel full and toss it aside.</em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;What a stinky job&#8221;, the man thought to himself, &#8220;who would want to do that?&#8221;  But the boy seemed to get happier with every load he tossed aside.</em></p>
<p><em>Finally the man couldn&#8217;t stand it any longer and he asked the boy, &#8220;what are you doing?&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>The boy, with a smile from ear to ear answered, &#8230;<span id="more-775"></span> &#8220;well, with all of this horse manure, there has got to be a pony underneath.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><strong>So again, what does all  this have to do with network marketing?</strong></p>
<p>Well, as network marketers we have to put up with, well, a lot of crap.</p>
<p>Rejection from prospects; Ridicule from friends and family; Getting paid very little money for a whole lot of work in the beginning; A steep learning curve and what seems to be never-ending challenges.</p>
<p><strong>However….</strong></p>
<p>If we keep our eyes on the price, keep a positive attitude, face our challenges with a smile on our face and never give up … we will be handsomely rewarded at the end.</p>
<p><strong>Remember&#8230; <em>&#8220;Your attitude determines your altitude!&#8221;</em></strong></p>

<h3><strong>Or …What not to do when you first start out in network marketing.</strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Let’s be totally honest here. As new network marketers just starting out in the industry we all have made some mistakes. I know I certainly have made my share. That’s just part of the learning curve. As long as we learn from our mistakes and fail forward, we’ll be alright.</p>
<p>So, here are probably the 7 most common mistakes we make as brand new network marketers&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>1) </strong><strong>Don’t have a Part-time Attitude</strong></p>
<p>It’s certainly okay to build your network marketing business part-time and alongside your regular job in the beginning. What’s not okay, is having a part-time attitude about it. Many new networkers fail because they treat their business like a hobby. This will reflect in your commission check. So, don’t dabble in your business…<span id="more-766"></span> Commit to it! It is YOUR future that you are building.</p>
<p><strong>2) </strong><strong>Don’t Make Yourself the Issue</strong></p>
<p>When you first start out in network marketing you know absolutely nothing. Nothing about the company and nothing about the products you are selling. You are brand spanking new. So how are you supposed to grow your business? You haven’t even earned a penny in commission yet. Many new networkers feel very uneasy because they don’t know what to say to their prospects.</p>
<p>Don’t worry. Just take yourself out of the equation. Find either your sponsor or somebody in the levels above you who is willing to help you. Use that person as an expert to do 3-way calls with your prospects.</p>
<p>Don’t interrupt them while they are talking, listen carefully and take good notes on what they say and how they say it. Learn from them so eventually you can do this yourself.</p>
<p><strong>3) </strong><strong>Don’t Take Rejection Personally</strong></p>
<p>New network marketers are often afraid to talk to people about their new business opportunity because they are afraid of getting rejected. What they must realize is that, it is not them getting rejected, but the opportunity might not be right for the person they are talking to. Or the timing may just not be right.</p>
<p>When I started out in this industry, rejection was a biggie for me. I was afraid of picking up the phone and calling my leads, because I was afraid of them telling me “NO.”</p>
<p>Until someone put it to me this way… “Look, when you order a Bic Mac at McDonalds and the clerk asks you if you would like fries with that, he’s not going to break out in tears if you tell him, ‘NO’, or is he?”</p>
<p>Well, of course not. That would be silly. Fries are not for everyone …and neither is your business opportunity. You just have to find the right people. ..Hint: Those who like fries.</p>
<p><strong>4) </strong><strong>Don’t Reinvent the Wheel</strong></p>
<p>Someone has always walked the path before you. So don’t make things harder for yourself by trying to reinvent the wheel. If your sponsor or team has a system that has worked for them, by all means use it. Keep it simple! Don’t make this business more difficult than it really is.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>5) </strong><strong>Don’t Forget the Power of Customers</strong></p>
<p>Often new networkers are so focused on recruiting new team members that they totally forget about customers. Retail sales count for part of your income in network marketing. Customers are the back bone of your business. They join because they fell in love with your products, and they stay because of it.</p>
<p><strong>6) </strong><strong>Don’t Alienate Your Sponsor</strong></p>
<p>Your sponsor is your most valuable resource. Your ‘go to person’ who is there to train and guide you, to support and encourage you. Don’t alienate him or her by constantly whining or being negative or hanging on their shirt tails.</p>
<p>Don’t expect him or her to hold your hand the whole way through.  I have had sponsors who were there for me for my first week …and then cut me lose. From then on I was on my own, but I knew if I needed something they were just a phone call away. I was expected to call THEM …not the other way around.</p>
<p><strong>7) </strong><strong>Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Dream</strong></p>
<p>There is a reason why you started your network marketing business. It may be to stay home with your kids. Or to bring your husband home. It may be to buy a bigger house. A new car.  It may be that you are  getting close to retirement and want to make sure you can live comfortably after you no longer work. Or you might want to go on that long overdue family vacation. Whatever your “WHY” don’t let anyone come along and steal it. Hang on to it!</p>

<p><strong>We Have Two Choices</strong></p>
<p>Jerry is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone asks him how he is doing, he always replies, &#8220;If I were any better, I would be twins!&#8221;</p>
<p>Jerry is a natural motivator. If an employee is having a bad day, Jerry is right there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Because of this attitude he has several waiters who have followed him around from restaurant to restaurant.</p>
<p>This really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, &#8220;What&#8217;s the deal with you? Nobody can be that positive all of the time! How do you do it?&#8221;</p>
<p>Jerry replied, &#8220;Each morning I wake up and say to myself, &#8216;Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.&#8217; I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Oh come on, it can&#8217;t be that easy,&#8221; I protested.</p>
<p>&#8220;Yes it is,&#8221; Jerry said. &#8220;Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react. You choose how people affect your day. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line is that you choose how you live your life.&#8221;</p>
<p>I thought about what Jerry said for a long time.</p>
<p>Soon thereafter, I left the area to start my own business. We lost touch, but often thought about Jerry when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.</p>
<p>Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center.</p>
<p>After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, &#8220;If I were any better, I&#8217;d be twins. Wanna see my scars?&#8221; I declined, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the </p>
<p>robbery took place. &#8220;The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door,&#8221; Jerry replied. &#8220;Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Weren&#8217;t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?&#8221; I asked.</p>
<p>Jerry continued, &#8220;The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, &#8216;He&#8217;s a dead man.&#8217; I knew I needed to take action.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;What did you do?&#8221; I asked.</p>
<p>&#8220;Well, there was a big, blonde nurse shouting questions at me,&#8221; said Jerry. &#8220;She asked if I was allergic to anything. &#8216;Yes,&#8217; I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, &#8216;Bullets!&#8217; Over their laughter, I told them, &#8216;I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.&#8217; &#8221;</p>
<p>Jerry is alive today, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that day that we always have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.</p>
<p>Now you have a choice: you can forget this story, or you can choose to let it make a difference in your attitude and your life.</p>

<p>They say, &#8220;Attitude is Everything.&#8221; I totally agree. Every morning when I get up I make a choice. I can make it a good day or, I can make it a bad day. It&#8217;s totally up to me and my attitude. I can greet the new day with a smile, or I can greet it with a frown. I can be negative, or, I can be positive. As I start the day, so it will surely end though.</p>
<p>I came across the video of Zig Ziglar below and would like to share it with you. It&#8217;s one of my favorites.</p>

<p>Just like you are what you eat you also are what you think.<br />
If you are thinking about debt and how on earth to pay your<br />
bills that&#8217;s exactly what you get more of. More bills and more debt.</p>
<p>Turn it around and think of abundance. Create vivid pictures in<br />
your mind of what you would do if you had no money worries.</p>
<p>What would your life look like? What house would you live in?<br />
Be as specific as you possibly can. What would it look like?<br />
Picture every room, the floors, the carpet, the furniture, the<br />
pictures on the wall. Imagine your beautiful back yard with<br />
flowers and trees. Just gorgeous. Imagine your family and<br />
friends on your new deck having a good time at your grill party.</p>
<p>What car would you drive? What model? What color. Imagine<br />
the smell of the leather seats. Close your eyes. Can you see<br />
it parked in the drive way of your brand new house?</p>
<p>Picture yourself eating out at a very expensive restaurant. Pick<br />
your favorite entree from the menu without scanning the right column.</p>
<p>Where would you go for vacation? Picture yourself already there.</p>
<p>Next time you feel blue and discouraged find a quiet place and<br />
think about what your life would be like without money worries.</p>
<p>You think anyway&#8230;might as well think BIG!</p>

Successful People think it&#8217;s interesting that someone could be fooled that easily.  They&#8217;re amazed that broke people never consider that they are selling themselves at wholesale while the Successful Person is reaping the retail rewards.</p>
<p>14. Broke People complain a lot.<br />
Successful People are thankful that no one shot at them today, they didn&#8217;t have to fight in a war, and that they don&#8217;t have a job.</p>
<p>15. Broke People are too concerned about what other people are doing.<br />
Successful People are only concerned about what they can be doing to get more done.</p>
<p>16. Broke people think that if no one is doing something, it must suck.<br />
Successful people think that if no one is doing something, it means more money for them.</p>
<p>17. Broke people think that if everyone (all 200 people at a meeting or on a conference call) are all doing the same thing, it must be saturated.<br />
Successful people think that broke people who think that way aren&#8217;t too bright.</p>
<p>18. Broke people think it is OK for other people to live where they want to live, drive what they want to drive, and do what they want to do.  Broke people are OK with the fact that they can&#8217;t do these things.<br />
Rich people get sick just thinking about being average.</p>
<p>19. Broke people think that other people&#8217;s opinions are worth more than their dreams.  Rich people know that their dreams are worth more than other people&#8217;s opinions</p>
<p>Moral of the story:  To be successful, find out what unsuccessful people do, read, watch and think&#8230;..and don&#8217;t read what they read, watch what they watch, do what they do or think how they think!</p>
