How To Become A Better Network Marketer … In Less Than 30 Days

Productivity Advice from Jerry Seinfeld
We all have certain tasks that we should be doing on a daily basis. But for some reason or another we don’t.
Deep down we know that doing these tasks would not only help us become a better network marketer but they would also greatly improve our business skills.
There’s a great story about a young comic who met Jerry Seinfeld.
He asked him if he had any tips on how to improve his jokes as he was still learning the ropes.
The answer Seinfeld gave him was genius, not for the fact that he told the young comic to write every day (which he already knew), but because he told him to write every day, even if he didn’t feel like it.
Seinfeld then went on to reveal his own secret technique that he uses to stay motivated and pressure himself to write every day.
He told the young man to get a calendar that shows a whole year on one page and hang it on a wall where he can see it. The next step was to get a big red magic marker.
Then he told him that for each day he does his task of writing, he should put a big red X over that day. After a view weeks he’d see a chain and that chain would grow longer and longer. He said, “you’ll like seeing that chain especially after you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is not to break that chain.”
“Don’t break the chain.”
What a great psychological motivator. It get’s you keep going because you start to like seeing that chain unbroken. And so, tasks that may be difficult for you (or boring) but beneficial for your business will get much more exciting and the chances increase that you’ll actually do them.
I will try that out. How about you? There are a few tasks I should be doing on a daily basis. But for some reason it’s more like a hit and miss.
Oh, in case you are wondering why I titled this post “How To Become A Better Network Marketer … In Less Than 30 Days.” Because I don’t think you would like to break your chain of X’s after a couple of weeks, would you?
(You can download a printable calendar. Just google printable calendar.)

Hey Ilka,
Another great story. I am going to print out this calendar now. Thanks for this. I like anything that can add to my list of things to celebrate.
Let’s see how long we can build our chains.

Thanks, Chris!
Yep, celebrating even the small successes is a lot of fun. Btw. you were the one who taught me that
I’m on day 3 so far with my chain.
Had to dig you out of Akismet’s spam folder again. Don’t know what’s up with that lately. Maybe it’s a new update or something. Kinda annoying though.
Anyhow, you and Tragena have a great evening and hug the boys!

By the way, I can’t get your tweet button to work. The facebook button worked fine. Don’t know why.

Hi Chris,
I just tried it and it says “the link is pointing to the wrong story.” Weird! Never had that happen before.
Thanks for considering a retweet though!

It’s not just you. Dwayne Huggins and Wayne Vassell have some stuff that came out this week that did the same thing.
I always retweet your stuff. I love the stories you come up with here.
I have a recommendation for you. In your back office go to pluggins and add new. type in subscribe to comments and activate that pluggin. That way, when you respond to someones comment they will recieve it by email and know what you said.
If you notice my comments are way up these days. I think it’s because people like to be a part of the conversation. That pluggin really makes that happen.
I bet your tweets and shares will go way up if you do.
You deserve it here. I really like this site.

Hi Ilka,
Jerry Seinfeld. Did you know his name is really Jerome?
Hmmm!!!
Don’t break the chain! Kind of like NOT breaking the network marketing chain.
One link is broken and you’re in trouble. Uh oh!
Good post… chat with you later,
Jerome Ratliff

Hey Ilka
Don’t break the chain huh. I like it
From the day I decided to write an article an day, I so far haven’t missed one day (apart from when I was on holiday). I am getting close to 3 months now.
Yesterday I had written my post, but was having trouble getting the time to upload it (I had a very hectic day). As the was drawing closer to an end I began to feel anxious, I didn’t want to break my chain and I didn’t YAY!
It really is a great motivator
Thanks for sharing
Dwayne

Congratulations, Dwayne!
That’s awesome! Three months, huh? Wow! Yes, once you see that chain of Xs you definitely don’t want to break it.
I even went out in a snowstorm yesterday to avoid breaking my streak of walking every day. Boy, those snowflakes stung like needles. People must have thought I was nuts
I’m working my way up to 3 posts a week. Writing (in another language) doesn’t come that easy to me. Eventually I hope to join the ranks of you, Josh and all the others over at JB who post daily.
Have a great weekend!

Hey Susanna,
Welcome to my humble home! Great to see you here. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.
Yep, you’ll come to a point where you do everything in your power not to break that chain. (Even if it takes getting your daily walk in in a snowstorm
)
Much continued success to you!
