Do Dogs Love Bones? | Are You Settling for Less in Your MLM Network Marketing Business?

I attended an event for my company this weekend and I must admit that was one of the best events I have ever been to. While it did touch on product and company training, it was mostly about personal development and mindset etc., and if you have been following my blog for a while then you know that I absolutely love personal development stuff. The event was amazing and I came away from it a totally changed person.
As a matter of fact it made so much of an impression on me that I would like to share a few of my personal highlights with you in my next couple of blog posts.
As I sat there listening and soaking it all in I noticed that I had actually blogged about some of the stuff that was presented just recently. Sspecially how you can sabotage your own success by stinkin’ thinkin’. So the fact that our CEO and owner of the company brought it up at this network marketing event just reaffirmed the importance of it.
What do you want out of life? Really?
The question was asked, … Do dogs love bones?
Silly question, I thought. Of course dogs love bones. Georgi, our boxer, does. I just brought him some nice rawhide bones from the grocery store last Friday. Man he loves those. As soon as I unloaded the car he went sniffing around all the bags, saliva dripping from his mouth like a faucet, because he knows I always bring him a surprise from the store.
Now imagine this scenario …
Imagine Georgi in a kennel 20 feet (or so) away and I put a big rawhide bone on my right side and a juice t-bone steak on my left. When I open that kennel door and tell him to “go,” where do you think he’s heading to?
You guessed it. Given the choice between a t-bone steak and a big rawhide bone, he’d make a beeline towards that juice t-bone steak every single time. Of course he would. Duh!
So, do dogs love bones?
No, not really. They just settle for bones.
That little parable really made me think.
Why settle for less?
Think about it. Why would anyone be settling for less than they could have? It just doesn’t make sense. Why would you settle for anything less than what you could have in your home based network marketing business? Don’t you deserve to be one of the top distributors in your company? Of course you do. So what is it that is holding you back?
To your success,
Ilka Flood

Hey Ilka
Love the dog story.
My dog would go for both
We settle for less without even realizing it.

Hi Peter,
Haha, smart dog! But which one would he head for FIRST??
Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome week!

Had to think long and hard because we share our “steak” with our dog, lol!
Point taken though, wonder why it is that we settle? Maybe we get tired, frustrated and figure we will settle for the bone, at least it’s better than nothing at all?
I’m re-evaluating my bones and steaks, what about you, Ilka…sounds like you did too?
Great post, keep them coming.

Hi Susanna,
Yeah you’re right. People really do ‘settle.’ I know I have settled for some things in the past. But that story really made me think. I shouldn’t have … I’m worth it! I deserve better!!
Thanks for stopping by and for leaving your great thoughts! I appreciate you!

I enjoyed this post Ilka, thank you. We deserve the very best and we only get this when we believe we deserve it and expect it too.
Company events are usually a blast and I can tell that you had a great time.
I loved the dog analogy and I have to tell you I have always wanted to have a Boxer. I think they are so amusing and lovable.

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for stopping by! You’re absolutely right, we deserve the best… How does the hair color commercial go … “I’m worth it!”
Boxers indeed are very funny. They are nicknamed the “Slapstick of the Canines.” And yes, they are definitely very lovable … and loving
Have an awesome rest of the week!

Ilka love the analogy my dogs would have went with whatever the other would have went to out of jealousy.
That might be another post all together though.
Your right about dogs though they do settle for what we give them because quite frankly they have to.
Some people have the same mentality. They refuse to believe we are creators and there are other realities for themselves waiting inside.
We just have look harder and find our steak.
Woof!,

Hi Steve,
Isn’t that a funny thing when you have several dogs? They always look at what the other one does. So weird.
I love how you said “we are creators.” We indeed create our own destiny … positive or negative. We are limited only by our beliefs. But that’s subject for another post
Have an awesome evening and thank you for stopping by. I appreciate you!

Hi Ilka,
This was a great analogy! Why should we settle for less in our business?
You don’t know how many rags to riches stories I’ve heard over the years and if those people can become successful without settling for less than why can’t I?
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sherman,
You brought up a great point actually. I know of several people who rose up from rags to riches myself. They never stopped believing … and actually that is the key

Hi Soren,
You are right. We shouldn’t settle. We deserve better and we should get everything out of the way (or out of our mind) that keeps us from reaching our dreams.
Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate you!
Have a great weekend!

Hey Ilka!
That is a great post! I just got done reading a book that talked about this same thing.
I bet you probably heard this from the author at the event that you attended
BTW, I hope all is going well with you and I apologize for being MIA for the last couple of weeks. Got some real important things going on and it has been exciting to say the least. Let’s catch up on Facebook.
