How Big is Your Rolodex?

| Posted in Relationship Marketing |

Rolodex IncomeA couple of days ago I reconnected with an old team mate from a previous company. It’s funny how life works out sometimes. But that’s the beauty of network marketing, you make friends for life. Anyway, Beth had found my review of Jordan Adler’s book “Beach Money” and then she looked me up on Facebook. (If you haven’t read “Beach Money”, I would highly recommend you do.)

After accepting her friend request I went to check out her profile page to find out what she’d been up to recently and that is where I found the video of Jordan Adler that I am sharing below.

When Jordan Adler speaks, I listen. I said that once before on one of my older posts. And why do I listen? Because Jordan is not only the most genuine person I know, he’s also very successful in what he does. He’s the top distributor in SendOutCards.

Choosing the Right Language in Network Marketing

More Cash FlowIn network marketing it is very important to choose your words carefully. When talking to a prospect WHAT you say matters as much as HOW you say it. Remember, the people we try to gain as customers or new team members are not on the same wavelength as we are. Most of have a totally different mindset and our language is foreign to them and may even turn them off.

Never  judge others by our own standards. And never assume that the person you are speaking to wants the same thing you do.

Have you used the wrong approach before?

I don’t know about you, but I have made the mistake before to approach a prospect with the question, “How would you like to have your own business.”  The look I got back was very similar to that of a deer caught in the headlights followed by a stammered …”A WHAT?” Or worse yet, my question was answered with complete silence.

Attention all Networkers – Prime Recruiting Season begins next Tuesday, September 3rd 2013

Prime Recruiting SeasonWhen I logged into my Facebook account today a message from my good friend and fellow team member, Larry Fuchs, posted in one of the groups I belong to, caught my eye. As a matter of fact it was the first post I read this morning and just the right inspiration and motivation I needed to crank up my business building a notch or two.

In his message Larry reminded us that the next 90 days are what we call in the network marketing business “Prime Recruiting Season.”   In other words, this is the best time to sponsor new people into your organization.

There are actually two Prime Recruiting Seasons each calendar year. The first one begins on the first business day after New Year’s and ends on or around the 31st of May.

It’s Time to Switch to Healthy

Switch to Healthy

I apologize beforehand for this post being a tad long and a bit personal. If you are one of my regular readers you will have noticed that I have been MIA for the past two months. Yes, I have adopted the “School’s Out” philosophy and just taken a break for a while. I have done that during the summertime for the past couple of years now, but I have never been gone for more than two weeks. So this was quite a long break.

I’m glad I took more time off this summer because it allowed me to take a step back and reflect on some things I wasn’t happy about for quite some time. I noticed, I was kind of stuck in a rut. Things weren’t working as well as they used to. It was time to make some changes. Drastic changes!

If You Have a Problem, Try Eating It

Eat that FrogI know I am probably the only person on the planet who has this problem. But just in case there’s a slim possibility that I am wrong about this and it will ever happen to you too, I would like to share this with you. I am talking about…Procrastination.

I didn’t use to procrastinate, but in recent years I’ve fallen off the track quite a few times and lately I find myself putting more and more of those tasks off that I really don’t like to do.

Once upon a time I used to do those things first thing in the morning to get them out of my way and go on with my day. But these days, I pick the things that are fun to do and do them first and the rest, oh well, gets filed under Later, Much Later, or Never. That is really not a good thing!

How to Attract the Right People to Your Network Marketing Business

Attracking people to your network marketing businessBuilding a strong organization of like-minded individuals is the key for your success in network marketing. Not everyone has what it takes to be successful in this business. So what kind of person do you want to attract to join your team?

Look at it this way, you are the president of your business and you want to build a strong, dynamic and supportive team, made up of capable, trustworthy, committed and loyal individuals. You want to attract the best of the best!

So where do you start?

Well, first and foremost you are looking for the kind of people who are naturally attracted to your business.  For example, if your business has to do with health and wellness, then you are looking for people who like to live healthy, people who like to stay fit and people who are interested in good nutrition. Or, people who want to change to a healthier lifestyle. If your business is about technology, then you want to attract people who are in to technology, gadgets, apps, etc.

Backup Your WordPress Blog – Protect Your Blog from Brute Force Attacks

Backup WordPress BlogBad things always happen to other people, right? “It’s not going to happen to me”, are sometimes the last words we speak. ” I know I should backup my WordPress blog”, that’s one thought that came to my mind this week. And besides, I had never ever heard about “brute force attacks.” But let me start from the beginning…

If you were visiting my blog recently, you may have noticed that it was offline for a few days. Well, 3 days and 15 hours to be exact. I am truly sorry and I apologize for any inconvenience.

I was first alerted to this matter by a Facebook friend who told me that she gets a “Forbidden 403″ error when she visits my site. From there it went to “Emergency Maintenance” … “503 Service Unavailable” … “Error 404 – Page Not Found” and a couple of others.

Do You Dare to Dream?

Dare to DreamDo you dare to dream and do you really know what you want your future to look like? Or do you have no idea and you just know what you don’t want?

Gee, loaded questions,  but that’s exactly how many people are. They don’t know what they want exactly. They have kind of an idea, but it’s not specific. But only if you have a clear picture of your goal or dream can you move in that direction, isn’t that right?

If you don’t know what your target is
how are you going to hit it?

For example saying, “I want financial freedom,” or, “I want to make lots of money” or “I want to be rich.” These are all very broad goals, aren’t they? What does that entail exactly?

The American Dream – Not all is Lost Yet

The American DreamWhat happened to the American Dream? Well actually, let’s look at what it is first. According to Wikipedia…

The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility achieved through hard work. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement” regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.

The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that “all men are created equal” and that they are “endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights” including “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Stop Being Afraid and Start Believing in Yourself!

Stop bein afraid and start believing in yourself. You will be surprised what will happen with your network marketing business when you finally stop being afraid and start believing in yourself.

I was asked the question recently what has made some of the biggest differences for me and my business.  If I had any breakthrough revelations or actions that altered my destiny radically. (Thank you Dave, for giving me the idea for this blog post!)

Oh, YES, I sure have!

The biggest difference was probably when I stopped being afraid. I was afraid of so many things when I started out in the network marketing industry. If you have been reading my blog for a while then you probably remember that I was one of those people who are totally anti MLM. I didn’t want anything at all to do with it. I thought it was one of these illegal pyramid schemes and selling pyramids wasn’t my thing. As a good friend of mine pointed out once: “Not only is selling pyramids illegal, but the Egyptians have tried to sell theirs for over 3,000 years and haven’t sold a single one.” By the way, this is a great ice-breaker if someone gives you the line, “Is this a pyramid?”

So what all was I afraid of?

Cool Facebook Trick Helps You Get More Clicks, Comments and Shares for Your Blog

Cool Facebook TrickAh, you know me, when I learn a cool little trick that makes marketing my business easier for me, I just can’t help but pass it on to you guys.

I have been posting my blog posts to Facebook for a couple of years now. It’s done automatically actually through Networked Blogs. Whenever I hit ‘publish’ on my posts a short while later the post gets published to Facebook and Twitter automatically. Which is kind of cool, however, I haven’t seen many clicks, or comments or shares from Facebook that way.

It hasn’t bothered me that much because I didn’t realize what I was missing and I get lots of traffic from other sources anyway.  But now, that I found out about this little Facebook trick from a gentleman who’s opinion I value a great deal and who has taught me a lot about internet marketing and some other cool Facebook tricks before, I just had to try it out. (You can check out Chris Farrell’s Membership Site here. {Aff} I know you will be impressed.)

Happy Easter and a Beautiful Spring!

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!Next to fall, spring is my favorite season of the year. I love to watch the crocuses and snowdrops peeking through the snow. I look forward to this every year.

We still have a few of them in our backyard that  Georgi, our boxer, hasn’t managed to kill off yet. These tiny, though very hardy flowers are the first signs heralding spring. But soon there will be many more. Daffodils, tulips , hyacinths and primroses, a whole carpet of beautiful flowers will be everywhere. Hanging baskets and flower pots bursting with nature’s miracles will make their appearances all over our neighborhood shouting …. Yes, spring is here!
